students are requested to submit a group project focusing on Safilo Group. They canuse the document entitled “Annual report 2020” (available athttps://www.safilogroup.com/en/investors/presentations-reports/reports ) and other relevant sourcesof information. Students are required to:• Analyse the eyewear industry and explain how digitalisation impacts competition among incumbentfirms (25 points).• Discuss the firm’s corporate strategy and critically evaluate how information technology affects itsdevelopment and implementation (25 points).• Critically assess whether and to what extent environmental sustainability impacts Safilo’s strategicdecision-making (25 points).
YOU WILL NEED ONLY TO ANSWER TO THE FOLLOWING QUESTION AND DO A RELEVANT CONCLUSION TO THE ESSAY:• Identify the company’s competitive advantages and use Vrio framework to evaluate their sustainability in a digital and global market (25 points).
STRUCTURE AND FORMAT OF THE REPORT:This is a group assignment. Groups should be made up of 2, 3 participants maximum. Groups can bechosen at your convenience and should be submitted to the course lecturer with the subject of yourproject. In the event that groups cannot be amicably selected the course lecturer will select groups,even amongst those groups already decided. The course lecturer reserves the right to select groupswithout recourse or debate.Make sure your writing is precise and to the point. Your paper should not exceed 2000 +/-10% wordsper student, excluding appendices and references.Format of the report:1. The report should display a coherent structure: title page should include student name, modulename, lecturer name, date and school name followed by contents page, introduction,executive summary, methodology, findings, analysis, recommendations, referencing andappendices.2. The report should be prepared as a neatly typed Word document (Times New Roman 12points), with double spacing and page numbering.3. All reports will be discussed in class in a power point presentation of no more than 20 minutes.The presentation should be a summary of your work.4. Tables or work/data taken from other sources may be included in an appendix.5. All sources must be referenced in the text and a full bibliography must be provided (includingvisited websites) in the Harvard style referencing system. Paraphrasing or direct quotes takenfrom other sources must be clearly indicated with citations. No footnoting!6. Students are reminded that depth, relevance and variety are the crucial elements of qualityresearch. (Wikipedia is not considered to be a relevant source of information; any studentsreferencing Wikipedia will be deducted marks! Alternatively, if you find information onWikipedia use the original sources listed at the bottom of the article)7.
