Identify the areas from your self-evaluation that require improvement.
Select three of these areas that are most likely to have the greatest impact if improved, based on the degree of performance shortfall and on the school’s mission, vision, and values (as described in the Teacher Data template).
Write a goal statement for each of these three areas that reflects your vision for improvement. Use the SMART goal format described in the next section and document your goal statements in the Development Plan section.
Select the two goals you will focus on first.

A specific goal is one that clearly describes the needed improvement. Refer to the example below.

A goal is measurable when there is a way to assess or determine if the goal has been met. Refer to the example below.
